The 2020 Summit Series Jr. Street Class at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park kicked off with a double-header weekend on January 18th!

NHRA Division 7 Jr. Championship Series Races 9 & 10 - Irwindale, CA (9/29 & 10/1)
After attending the Celebration of Life for our beloved Racers for Christ Chaplain, Brad Gordon, on Friday, 9/28/2017, we had a great weekend (9/29 & 10/1) in Irwindale to close out the 2017 NHRA Division 7 Jr. Championship Series. Tripp ended up taking home the Wally for Race #9 in a close (MOV was .0054) run against his buddy Dylan Hegwood, and going out first round in Race #10. Tripp ended the Series in 4th place in the 10-12 year old class, which is pretty good for his 1st year running the Divisional Series. We would like to congratulate Macie Gordon, Cy Mitchell, and Dylan Hegwood for their 1st thru 3rd finishes in the Series, and all of the participants for a great season!

What a great weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway!!! On Saturday Tripp went three rounds in the Gambler and made it to the quarter finals of the Race of Champions going red by -.009 against his buddy Ryan. Other than that pass, he was on his lights all day and Pappy had the car running the number. Congratulations to our teammates and friends, Troy Jackson, who took home the Wally in the 13-14 year old class Race of Champions, and Joey Petrone who won money in the "Run for the Money" race!
During Sunday's race Tripp went rounds with a great first round light that landed him with a bye in the second round. Lost in the third round with a double breakout after cutting a .015 light against his competitor's .011 light. It was an awesome race! Congratulations to Joey Petrone for making it to the finals on Sunday's in Jr. Comp!

Hundreds of cars lined Route 66 in downtown Williams, Arizona for a weekend full of fun, ice cream, and really cool cars! My buddy, Dylan, & I both received trophies for being in the "Fabulous 15"! It was a great weekend!

Great time at the first race of the National Auto Collision Centers Jr. Dragster Series! There were only 7 cars in Tripp's class, but they all had fun!

Tripp, Pappy, and friends Monty & Morgan made the trek to Top Gun Raceway in Fallon, Nevada for Races 5 & 6 of the Division 7 Championship Series. Amy missed her first race ever due to a previous commitment to dance with her Adult Tap Class in the Spring Recital.
Tripp made it to the semi-finals in Race 5 on Saturday and went red against his buddy, Cy Mtchell. Thanks to Stephanie Petrone for giving Tripp the same fist bump that my Amy does. That was awesome!

Picking Up the New Super Comp Dragster in Tracy, California - 5/27 thru 5/29/2017
Had a great trip to Tracy, CA to pick up the new Super Comp Dragster! Stopped in Chowchilla on the way home to say hello to Tripp's favorite former Jr. driver and mentor, AJ "Jalapeno" Thomas and the Thomas family.
Happy that Tripp's new ride is home. Definitely an awesome start to summer vacation!
1995 Spitzer 225" Hard Tail 468 Chevy with Glide 19" cage, RPM shifter and time shifter, KR Pro Cube and Pro Stage II throttle stop, Mark William rear end and Strange 3rd member aluminum housing, Fast O2 sensors and Monitor c02 air system. Runs 8.15 to 8.30...fastest run was 7.96! It also has a wing and front conards.

The final Summit Series races at Tucson Dragway didn't turn out the way that I hoped that it would. I was sick and decided that it wasn't a good idea to race. Slept it off,came back out Sunday, and went to the Quarter finals. Had fun hanging out with our track family, friends, and teammates.

Congratulations to all of my teammates on a great series, and to Hunter Jones on licensing in his Funny Car. My Mom was so happy that she got to say her first official prayer in the lanes with Hunter before he made his final licnesing pass.
But...the highlight of the weekend happened for my Mom after the race was over on Sunday. As long as I can remember she has always said that she her dream job would be to drive the tractor that drags the track.

After cutting a .001 light and running an 8.902 on an 8.90 dial in Round 2, broke out by .001 (8.899 on an 8.90 dial) after pedaling it at the stripe in the Semi-finals. Thanks to Pappy for the great set-up, to Cindi and Eric Hanson for making sure the tires had the best prep out there and filming each round, and to my Mom for doing a heck of a job on helping dial the car with no computer or weather station (because she thought Pappy had it and he thought she had it 😂). Congratulations to my buddy Dylan Winefsky on his win tonight!

Tripp is super excited about his new car...even if he can't license in it for another 2-1/2 years (burnout box here he comes...again)!!!
Made it to the Quarter finals during Race #4 on Sunday in Sacramento for Race 4 of the Division 7 Series. Had an awesome time with my track family and my family that came to the track.
Flew home Sunday night so he wouldn't miss school on Monday morning, while Mom and Pappy drove the car home.

2017 Desert Storm Shootout Jr. Challenge at Tucson Dragway - 4/22 & 4/23/2017
WOW!!! What a weekend!!! We started Friday with a huge barbeque followed by a very special Prom for a driver and his girlfriend who were missing their senior prom to race for the Wally, followed by an R/C car race in the pits that the kids had a blast with while raising money for the Jr. program at Tucson Dragway. Saturday was not Tripp’s day, and he ended up going out in Elimination Round 2. Congratulations to Benny Harris who won the Run for the Drum and Aubree Totten (6-12), Keoki Desa (13-17) & Joey Petrone (Jr. Comp) on picking up wins and Wally’s! We hung out with our track family, participated in some awesome raffles (Congratulations on your new Traxxas Slash Brody Burris), had a water balloon fight, the parents raced their golf carts, and ended the day by spending the evening at the Pima County Fair!
Sunday was a new day of racing; a bit windy, but fun! Tripp qualified 20th in a 35-car field, and went on to win the race…and his 4th Wally!!! He earned it by pedaling the heck out of his car at the top end during all but 2 of the 7 rounds that we ran (a bye in the Quarter Finals and the Final Round). It was an amazing day, and one of the best weekends EVER! Congratulations to Monique Pyle (13-17) and Zach Hartnett (Jr. Comp) on their Wally wins!
All of the kids did an amazing job this weekend…from good sportsmanship, to helping get things ready for different things happening, to representing Tucson Dragway at the Fair on Saturday night, to being there to support their teammates and newfound friends! Took the win after being #1 Qualifier with a .000 light running a 8.900. Followed up with two .006 lights running 8.903 and 8.906!

Tough 1st Round loss in Race #3, Was #1 Qualifier with a .001 in Race #4 going out in the 2nd Round when I came up short at the stripe by .001. Looking forward to the next Race April 1st & 2nd!
